How to Reach Panna National Park

Panna National Park is located in the northern part of Madhya Pradesh, the central state of India. The wildlife haven is sprawled across the Panna and Chhatarpur districts on the Vindhyan ranges. Located very close to the popular city of Khajuraho, Panna National Park is a critical tiger habitat and offers convenient accessibility through various transportation options.

Nearest Airport: Khajuraho Airport (25 km)

The distance from Khajuraho Airport to Panna National Park is approximately 25 km. the Raja Bhoj International Airport in Bhopal is the nearest international airport to Panna National Park, approximately 387 km away. It might take about 8.5 hours to cover the distance, therefore, taking a train from Bhopal Junction to Khajuraho is a better alternative option. The train journey lasts from 6.5 hours to 8 hours and the remaining distance of approximately 22 km from Khajuraho Railway Station to Panna National Park has to be covered by road.

Nearest Railhead: Khajuraho Railway Station (22 km)

The nearest railhead to Panna Tiger Reserve is Khajuraho Railway Station. However, the train connectivity to or from Khajuraho is not too vast. While travelling from far away cities to reach Panna, Satna and Jhansi are the two major railheads that can be considered. The distance from Satna Junction and Jhansi Junction to Panna Tiger Reserve is 88 km and 184 km respectively.

Please note that there are no direct trains from Satna Junction to Khajuraho. The distance from Satna has to be covered by road via NH39. On the other hand, arriving at Jhansi Junction, further train can be reserved to Khajuraho Railway Station.

Reaching Panna by Road

Reaching Panna Tiger Reserve is considerably simple, being located near the significant city of Khajuraho. Some of the the prominent cities near Panna Tiger Reserve are Chattarpur, Khajuraho, Satna, Damoh, Rewa, Katni, Orchha and a few more. The cities are connected through several national highways like NH39, NH43, NH339 and state highway SH55.
